Speaker of Iran’s parliament (Majlis) Ali Larijani and Kazakh Chairman of the Majilis of Parliament Kabibulla Dzhakupov stressed the need for confronting all militant groups, particularly Daesh Takfiri terrorists, in the region.
The both officials also stressed that the two countries’ parliaments play a significant role in the expansion of relations.
This comes as they held talks in the Russian capital, Moscow, on Tuesday on the sidelines of the first meeting of Eurasian parliamentary speakers.
Dzhakupov invited his Iranian counterpart to participate in an international conference titled “Religions against Terrorism” in the Kazakh capital of Astana on May 31.
The top Kazakh official also said his country believes that Iran is an important player not only in the region but across the world.
The Iranian parliament speaker, Ali Larijani will also hold talks with Russian officials and other dignitaries attending the meeting. He is in Moscow at the invitation of Russian State Duma Speaker Sergey Naryshkin.
The first conference of the Eurasian states’ parliament speakers opened in Moscow on Tuesday. Speakers from nearly 20 countries are attending the meeting.
The developments come as Daesh and some other militant groups are wreaking havoc across several countries, especially in Iraq and Syria.
Iran has extended its support for all Islamic and the world nations for anti terror fights.
