The religious performances of Laylat al-Qadr known as night of destiny are held on 19th, 21st & 23rd of Ramadan at the shrine of late founder of Islamic Republic each year and attended by thousands of people from various walks of life.
The holy site has become center of religious, spiritual and social gatherings in recent years. Imam’s mausoleum is also visited by thousands of pilgrims and tourists from across Iran and various other parts of the world each year.
According to holy book of Quran, the night of destiny is the night of Qadr, which is the most blessed all nights and worship during this night is superior to the prayer of a thousand months.
The holy book and the Islamic traditions by the holy prophet and the infallible imams indicate that the Angels and a highly dignified Angel (Roohul Ameen) descend and blessings are sent down on this earth, with the permission of God, the Almighty during the sacred night.
Imam Khomeini, the late founder of the Islamic revolution used to stay awake during nights of Qadr to say prayers and recite supplications. He also recommended believers and faithful people to undertake serious efforts for purification of their souls and hearts during these sacred days and nights.
The blessed night is also known as night of decree and it commemorates the period when God the Almighty revealed Quran to holy prophet of Islam.
In contemporary history, the emergence of the Islamic revolution under wise leadership of Imam Khomeini in Iran revived the religious and spiritual values across the world at a sensitive juncture of history when the world had been plunged into moral and social decline.
