Dr. Mohammed Iqtidar, in an interview with Imam Khomeini English Portal, mentioning how he got familiar with Imam Khomeini, said: "In 1979 I got the information about Imam Khomeini, about his activities and revolution. Since then I continued having studies regarding him."
Would you please tell me to what extent people of your country know imam and his characteristics?
Dr. Iqtidar said: "Being Indian, I can say that with no question of Shia or Sunni I can say in India from Cashmere to the other side cities the Muslims like Imam Khomeini’s thoughts because he was a hero of our Islamic revolutions. I can say that he is very popular, also every Muslim knows who he was I am not talking about illiterate people but the literate people having interest they know Imam Khomeini’s thought they know he was the man who established the Islamic government in Iran and he created our first unity among the Muslims."
"Nowadays we have the question of Islamic awakening in Arab countries, majority of people majority of citizens of the Arab are taking interest and some times they are rising like in Egypt and in Syria and Saudi Arabia also the people are very much aware, regarding the Islamic revolution so now we are facing that a revolution will come like 1979 in Iran and it will come in Saudi Arabia also. The Islamic revolution has influenced other countries because now the Muslims are also willing to adapt the Sharia around the world so are looking as an example to Iran." said Dr. Iqtidar about the Islamic Awakening.
Pointing to the effects of the Islamic awakening on Palestine, he continued: "Before the revolution, Egypt was supporting under the Israel’s hand but now it is in the other position, the Israeli embassy is closed in Egypt and the same position in Libya. So the Islamic awakening is effecting on the Palestine problem and Inshallah we will see the Muslims get the victory."
At the end he evaluated the role of women in Islamic awakening and said: "Actually by woman I mean mother. She is the best teacher of the child if the mother is religious so she will treat her children in the Islamic way and give him Islamic teaching and she will create Islamic atmosphere in the house so men we treat in this atmosphere and also be in the way of Islam so in my view the women role is very important. Mothers are the trainer of two generations because they will raise the future mothers too."
