Who does March 16th remind us about?

17 years after the demise of Hojatoleslam Hajj Sayyid Ahmad Khomeini, the valuable relic of Imam Khomeini has passed and still the people of Iran have sorrow on his loss. He who especially after the martyrdom of Sayyid Mustafa, Imam Khomeini’s older son, kept all the secrets of Imam and had devoted his life in the path of the divine aspirations of the Islamic revolution.

Jamaran news agency in his memory published a collection of his thoughts, memories and viewpoints, and the view points of other great people about him, in continue you will find parts of the viewpoints of the Gran Ayatollah Fazil Lankarani about him:

“About the ruling system and Velayat-e-Faqih, he was as sensitive as Imam was in these issues. Well, at times maybe he was dissatisfied from a number of the authorities and maybe he had some criticizes about issues, but when we t the base of our ruling system or Velayat-e-Faqih was concerned he always stepped back. And therefor in his will to his elder son and other children he wrote be careful to prevent from different analyzes which may mislead you to a different path from Velayat-e-Faqih.

After the demise of Imam, we have to say that Sayyid Ahmad was as a column to the Islamic republic. I believe that the authorities of our country regretted his demise more than any other person, for his existence was beneficial for the country. He continued the path of his father as it was and  he played his role as had to without any diversions. I believe that he had a share in all the works of the late Imam Khomeini, and I myself believe that his demise was a misfortune for the country because we have lost a unique column for the Islamic republic.

About his spirituality I should say that I have read both Sayyid Mustafa and Sayyid Ahmad’s will and both sons of Imam have said that they haven’t anything left in this life but a number of my books, and this is an honor for the revolutionaries and our revolution that a young person with his position who could have reached to what ever he wanted says that I have nothing in an institute or a bank or any other place but a little amount of money which is my salary which should be given to the poor.

I praise God that Imam has trained such children that have brought pride to the revolution and Islam.”
