Hezbollah got its foundations from Iranian Intellectuals

Sheikh Na’im Qasim, who is the deputy head of Hezbollah, attended the Martyr Motahhari Book Reading Competition. In this competition he delivered a speech regarding the high status of Martyr Motahhari and added: “Hezbollah’s foundations are based on the thoughts of the Imam, Martyr Beheshti, Martyr Sadr and Martyr Motahhari.”

Sheikh Na’im Qasim, who is the deputy head of Hezbollah, said: “One of the honours of Hezbollah is that its foundations are based on the works of Imam Khomeini, Martyr Beheshti, Martyr Sadr and Martyr Motahhari. This is also one of the factors which strengthens and makes Hezbollah better than other groups or currents.”

According to the Irna News Agency, Sheikh Na’im attended the Martyr Motahhari Book Reading Competition and said a few words praising and remembering the greatness of Martyr Motahhari. He also read out the message Imam Khomeini issued on the day of the martyrdom of Motahhari, and said that the Imam’s statement showed the high and influential status Martyr Motahhari had as an open minded scholar.

Sheikh Na’im also insisted that Islamic sciences should be spread and works regarding it should be published. He also added: “One should learn of Islam through scholars who are, noble and great, such as Imam Khomeini, Martyr Behehsti, Martyr Sadr and Martyr Motahhari, and one should try one’s best to spread Islam.”

He further added: “Giving off the appearance of Islam or being a Muslim, is no longer adequate in our times. One must have the appearance of a Muslim and be well educated in the Islamic sciences and have strong belief in the Islamic principles in order to resist cultural and ideological attacks.”

Sheikh Na’im also stated that the culture of reading books should be made widespread especially among the young, and added: “It is also very important for one to choose a suitable book. One must choose books which make the Muhammadan truths clear and answer all doubts, not offer us more doubts.”

He further stated: “Martyr Motahhari had a high status in the eyes of the Imam and his ideas were what backed the Islamic revolution. Martyr Motahhari was an educated scholar who touched on different Islamic dimensions and topics. If he felt that there was a shortage of information regarding a certain topic or that there were doubts regarding it, he would make sure that he carried out his duty and solved the problem.”…..Martyr Motahhari wrote many unparalleled works and his works covered a great and various number of matters and topics.”

Our head of cultural consultations was also present at this event. He stated that throughout history scholars have tried very had to protect Islam and make Islamic teachings clear, nevertheless there have been scholars among them whose blood was infused with their knowledge, and so they have had an exceptional influence on people and society.

He further added: One of these scholars was Martyr Motahhari, who was an active scholar. Wherever he felt the need to reveal the truths of Islam, protect them and make them clear, he put his foot forward. He was also one of the prominent revolutionaries before the revolution and after the revolution he had many responsibilities. However his enemies did not give him a chance and martyred him.

The head of cultural consultations also pointed out the evident success of the Islamic resistance against America and the Zionist regime, and their cultural attack on the religion and ethics of the Lebanese people, especially those showing resistance. He also talked of the importance of acquiring Islamic sciences and practising Islam and named Martyr Motahhari’s books, a rich and complete source of Islamic sciences.
