In the name of Allah who created women full of kindness, peace and tranquil – the mother who have all the divine love.
Greetings and felicitations to all dear guests on the occasion of the commemoration week of the dignity of women in the society, Mother’s Day, Birth Anniversary of Hazrat Fatema Zahra (SA) which coincides with the Birth Anniversary of Hazrat Imam Khomeini (RA), Founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Hazrat Fatema Zahra was the beloved daughter of Prophet Mohammad (SWA) and Hazrat Khadijeh (S).
Recognition of this great lady and analyzing the features and volume of her personality who is an example for all the human beings following any religion, is very important. She was a complete divine example who was sent for our clear guidance by the Almighty.
Commemorating the Birth Anniversary of the holy lady is in fact commemoration of the dignity of the entire humanity. Hazrat Fatema Zahra (SA) was the most complete human being in the history of the humanity, it is a matter of great pride for all the human beings. Her Birth Anniversary is day of proud not only for the women but also for men all over the globe.
From this point of view, birth anniversary of this divine lady is celebrated in Iran as Women’s and Mother’s Day so that the women can emulate her example in their own lives and attain their rightful place in the society.
On this occasion I wish to quote the sayings of Imam Khomeini (RA) with regards to the position of women in Islam:
“Embrace of mother is biggest school for a child where he/she gets the basic training. Profession of mother’s training is greater than any other profession. Because training of a child is not the only aim of the mother, but spirit and method of training is the most integral part of the mother’s endeavours. 9 months of togetherness in the form of genes and later total dependence of child on mother for food and care along with kindness which create a special place in training and developing the personality of a child. We firmly believe that all the human beings have gone through the pious training of their mothers.”
“Holy Quran is the instructor of the human beings so are the women.”
Today, women are the basic foundation of family in the Islamic Republic of Iran and they play important and central role in supporting the family. At the same they are also active in the political, social, economic and cultural fields.
Around 63% of the total students seeking admission in the Universities are females, whereas a large number of them have also completed their post graduation and doctorate levels. A good number of women are teaching in universities and elite institutions and occupy the important posts in other departments as well. Female Iranian students are actively taking parts in the competitive exams and International Scientific Olympiads. They also participate in all types of sports while keeping the Islamic Hijab intact.
At the end, I warmly and sincerely thank you sisters and dear friends and express my gratitude for participating in this commemorative programme on women.
