Ayatollah Shahroudi made remarks while paying visit to Imam Khomeini mausoleum on outskirts of Tehran.
The official went onto say that the great Imam had decorated himself with great divine attributes, sincerity, devotion to God Almighty and all these divine virtues transformed the whole world.
Imam Khomeini established the Islamic-democratic system despite all opposition by the so-called eastern and western block at that sensitive juncture of the history.
The scholar said that the great Imam raised awareness and Islamic Awakening based on genuine teachings of Islam.
Ayatollah Shahroudi concluded that Imam was a role model for the whole nation and the whole Muslim world and his teachings should be acted upon and followed.
It is noteworthy that Imam established a comprehensive Islamic-democratic system following the victory of Islamic Revolution in 1979. The progressive Islamic government brought prosperity and development for the nation in coming years.
The founder of the Islamic Republic once said Islam has represented a very civilized democratic system which guarantees various types of civil liberties and freedoms for all strata of the society.
