Imam Khomeini the religious leader of the Muslim world in response to a question by a Western journalist had said that the democratic values are enshrined in divine religion of Islam.

The founder of the Islamic Republic made remarks following the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran in 1979. The spiritual leader told an Italian journalist that Islam was staunch supporter of the human and democratic values and intends to promote it in all perspectives.

The Islamic Revolution set a successful pattern for establishing a democratic-Islamic government which is deeply relied on the public support and promotes divine, religious and moral values.
