Imam Khomeini Sought to Move Toward Self-Sufficiency

The founder of the Islamic Republic wanted the masses and elites to undertake serious efforts in order to achieve academic and scientific self-sufficiency in various fields.

Imam encouraged scholars and scientists to promote environment of research orientation at universities and research institutes.

The great figure also established special ministries and institutions to fight poverty, inequality and illiteracy from across the country. Imam also advised that these experiences should be shifted to other Muslim nations.

Facts and figures show that the Islamic Republic became self-sufficient in defense, education, agriculture and health, several other sectors.

The Islamic-democratic system founded under the wise leadership of Imam restored dignity to Muslims and brought prosperity for the Iranian nation in latter years.
