The great scholar of the Islamic world advised all clerics and preachers to make their intentions pure and deliver such speeches at religious gatherings which can elevate the Islamic societies towards spiritual and moral development.
He also recommended for preachers and those responsible for holding mourning ceremonies and religious gatherings during this period to make their intentions pure and grab the attentions of the youth towards the real message of Ashura.
The great Imam himself used to mention that how Imam Hossein (peace be upon him), the grandson of the holy prophet of Islam, undertook matchless efforts to revive the divine teachings and rescue the Islamic societies from cruel and tyrant rulers. According to him, the sacrifices presented by Imam Hossein (PBUH) revived the divine and Islamic teachings forever and put a final nail into coffin of tyranny and cruelty.
Imam used to release regular messages and participated in ceremonies which were held in remembrance of sacrifices rendered by Imam Hussein (PBUH) and his loyal companions. Imam used to remind the official and the Muslim masses the traditions narrated by the holy prophet which highlight virtues of Imam Hussein (PBUH) and his role as the lamp of guidance.
“Hussein is from me and I am from him,” said the holy prophet of Islam,
It is widely reported in authentic Islamic resources that the holy prophet also said: “Truly Hussein is the lamp for guidance and the ark for salvation.”
Imam Khomeini advised the masses, officials, preachers to pay attention to important message of Ashura which aims promotion of basic principle of Islam and that would be “commanding for good and forbidding from the bad.” Acting upon such a message would prevent the human societies from falling into pits of moral and social decline.
Imam maintained that Ashura had played a great role in victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran and it will play decisive role in defeating the tyranny anywhere in the world. He emphasized on keeping culture and legacy of Ashura alive for the current and coming generations.
