The trustees of the Imam are also the ones who had been influential in the society during the years of the Imam's exile.

They were all following Imam’s guidance and furthering his divine messages and Imam’s policies were also introduced by them to public masses.

Addressing a recent gathering, Abbas Komsari, the director of Qom branch of the institute for compilation and publication of Imam Khomeini said that that 1227 of the Imam's lawyers or trustees have been identified so far, and 79 of these people are still alive.

The names of some famous of these trustees include such as Ayat Azam Pasandideh, Hassan Sanei, Seyyed Hashem Rasouli Mahalati, Mohammad Reza Tosali, Seyed Mohammad Sadiq Lavasani, Mojtabi Tehrani, and in Najaf Nasrallah Khalkhali. The great verses of Martyr Seyyed Mustafa Khomeini, Gholamreza Rizvani, and Seyyed Abbas Khatam Yazdi and Montazeri.

He explained that the advocacy or trustees’ network may not be well known to the public masses, but it has a long history and it started from the time of Imam Kazem (‘a), the infallible successor of the holy prophet of Islam.

At the time of Minor Occultation (Ghaibat al-Sughra) of the infallible savior (may Allah hasten his emergence and appearance), the attorneys acted as mediators between the infallible Imam and the people, and even during the major Occultation, the connections between the scholars with the people is based on the same pattern of attorney.

The chain of attorneys and trustees even did exist among the top religious authorities and their trustees and same happened regarding narrating the Islamic narrations and permissions in this regard.

The director also said that we were in the middle of some important historical events which are significant regarding the history of the Islamic Revolution which emerged victorious under leadership of Imam Khomeini.

he meant Aban 13 (Nov. 4) which marks three important events: the anniversary of the takeover of the former US embassy in Tehran by Muslim students following Imam Khomeini's path (1979), the anniversary of the exile of the late founder of the Islamic Republic Imam Khomeini by Shah (1964), and the Student Day (marking the day in 1978 on which several students taking part in a protest rally against the Shah were martyred.)

Elsewhere in his remarks, the director of the Qom branch of the institute said that a summit is planned on November 9 in the holy city of Qom to discuss the role of trustees in furthering Imam’s mission during exile and their contribution to running religious affairs.
