Gaza women who resist Israeli aggression are a symbol of courage: Ebtekar

Masoumeh Ebtekar, the vice president for the Iranian women and family affairs in the cabinet of 12th government has said that Gaza women who resist have remained a symbol of courage and strong determination.

she went onto say that the fact that women know they are under bombardment but stay and resist shows their unparalleled courage. 

She made remarks a recent summit which held to discuss the latest developments regarding the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza.

She noted that the events show that children who are afraid of Israeli attacks have created images that no one can see and ignore.

 The ongoing genocide in Gaza, which includes the bombing of hospitals, synagogues, churches, mosques and even bakeries, has a clear message and shows the regime's open disregard for civilians, the former official said. 

The United Nations and humanitarian agencies have announced that the people there do not have water, food, fuel and electricity.

The ongoing demonstrations and massive rallies in various countries across the globe to support Palestine despite restrictions and prohibitions display the sensitivity of public opinion, she noted. 

Elsewhere, Ebtekar suggested that a series of basic structural, political, media and social reforms should be implemented to boost national unity and in this way we can play an effective role alongside all the oppressed people and nations. 

In her closing remarks, Ebtekar criticized some certain types of behaviors regarding media and coverage of issues

The one-sided policies of the national media have created an atmosphere of not tolerating critics. 

She made remarks at t summit has been held to discuss the Palestinian cause in the light of theoretical and practical conduct and life of Imam Khomeini.

The Thursday afternoon gathering was held at Hosseiniah Jamaran with presence of Seyyed Hassan Khomeini, the grandson of the late founder of the Islamic Republic, Mohammad Javad Zarif, the former Iranian foreign Minister.

Among the other dignitaries who attended the academic session were Hossein Alaei, Masoumeh Ebtekar, Ali Kamsari, representatives of the Palestinian Hamas resistance and Islamic Jihad movements in Tehran.

A group of intellectuals, professors and university and seminary figures delivered speeches and lectures. Among the prominent figures at the summit was Hojjat-al-Islam Seyyed Hassan Khomeini, the head of the institute for compilation and publication of Imam Khomeini’s books and works.
