Imam Khomeini who at the first stage caused the western-backed regime of Shah had collapsed. He later got engaged in sketching the real features of an Islamic society and his teachings were an echo from the holy books of Quran in this regard.
The public masses from all walks of life had deep respect for Imam. That is why we saw an occasion of ordinary citizens and people from different layers of society attending his funeral who had deep mourning in their hearts. This is because they all deemed Imam a divine figure and friend of God the Almighty.
