Hojjat al-Islam Mohammad Ali Ansari says Imam Khomeini had too much stressed the need for boosting unity among the internal community and all lyres of the society. He added that Imam Khomeini had counted on collective efforts and relied on people, and never said that he alone had led the Islamic Revolution to the victory in 1979.
Ansar, who is head of headquarters marking the 30th passing anniversary of Imam Khomeini, made remarks during a press briefing with journalists from various media outlets at the holy mausoleum of the late founder of the Islamic Republic on Monday.
“No one was as concerned as much as Imam about boosting the unity among all stratum of the society. Therefore anyone who sow discoed or strife among people will act against ideals of Imam even if such a person claim to be a follower of him, pointed out Ansari.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Ansari also stated that more than 300 demotic and foreign correspondents will be covering the event of the anniversary commemoration.
More than 50 foreign correspondents from various countries including Japan, Iraq, Spain, Turkey, Palestine, Lebanon and some other states, as well over 300 journalists, photographers and photographers of the national and domestic media will attend the 30th passing ceremony of Imam, he explained.
Ansari, a reputed scholar who has severed several public offices in the Islamic Republic, also said the foremost matter Imam emphasized was self-trust and esteem. He called on the relevant authorities to restore self-confidence and esteem to society to self-esteem.
Millions of Iranians and international admirers are marking 30 years since the departure of the revered founder of the Islamic Republic Imam Khomeini.
A special mourning ceremony is scheduled at Imam Khomeini’s Mausoleum in southern Tehran later Tuesday, with Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei due to deliver a speech.
Imam Khomeini passed away aged 86 at the night of June 3, 1989.
Hailed as one of the most influential figures in modern history, he led popular protests against Iran's former Pahlavi regime which was a key ally of the United States. Imam Khomeini spent many years in exile in Iraq, Turkey and France, from where he led a swelling grassroots movement which ultimately put an end to millennia of monarchical rule in Iran.
