Imam Khomeini revived struggle for Palestinian cause

According to IQNA dispatches, speaking at a recent summit held in Damascus to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution’s victory, a Syrian Awqaf ministry official said the struggle for the cause of Palestine was revived thanks to Imam Khomeini and the Islamic Revolution of Iran.

Nabil Suleiman said the special character of Imam Khomeini, the late founder of the Islamic Republic caused the Muslim Ummah to achieve a unity about issues like Palestine.

Also, he added, the movement of Imam Khomeini (RA) gave rise to a resistance front in the region and the world whose accomplishments can be seen today.

He went on to say that Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei follows the same path.

The Iranian nation toppled the US-backed Pahlavi regime 40 years ago, ending the 2,500 years of monarchic rule in the country.

The Islamic Revolution spearheaded by Imam Khomeini established a new political system based on Islamic values and democracy.

The 10-Day Dawn festivities will culminate in nationwide rallies on February 10 this year, the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.

The period witnessed last-ditch efforts by the Washington-backed regime of Iran’s former monarch to hold onto power by unleashing deadly force against pro-Revolution protesters.

The entire struggle resulting in the Revolution was led by Imam Khomeini, who successfully united the people against Pahlavi oppression and dependence on the US.

Imam Khomeini established an Islamic-democratic system in Iran following the victory of the revolution. The Islamic revolution revived divine values and changed the balance of power in interest of the oppressed nations.
