Iran is marking the thirty sixth anniversary of a terrorist bomb attack in Tehran that killed dozens of top officials.
June 27, 1981 marks a terrorist tragic act carried out by the US-led western backed terrorists against newly established system of Islamic Republic. The attack resulted in martyrdom of AyatollahBeheshti and his companions.
Dr. Beheshti was considered as a right-hand of the great Imam and the founder of the Islamic Republic on several occasion hailed Beheshti’s knowledge of worldly and religious affairs and his political wisdom.
Two months later, on August 30, 1981, President Rajaei, Prime Minister Bahonar and several other Iranian officials had convened at the Tehran office of the Iranian prime minister in a meeting of Iran’s Supreme Defense Council when a bomb explosion ripped through the building.
Survivors said an aide, identified as Massoud Kashmiri, had brought a briefcase into the conference room, placed it near the two high-ranking Iranian political figures and then left.
The explosion occurred when one of the victims opened the briefcase. The blast killed Rajaei, Bahonar and three other members of the Islamic Republican Party.
Subsequent investigations later revealed that Kashmiri was an operative of the terrorist Mujahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO), who had infiltrated the then-prime minister’s office disguised as a state security official.
Addressing the staff of Iran’s Judiciary at a meeting in Tehran on Wednesday, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei made reference to human rights violations committed by the United States in various parts of the world as well as France and Britain’s crimes of the past decades which took place in Africa and the Indian subcontinent.
The Leader added that the West’s support over the past years for the Daesh terror group in Syria and the atrocities being committed in Myanmar and elsewhere “is indicative of the repeated lies of the shameless fake human rights advocates.”
