Imam Khomeini described sportsmen as national assets

Imam Khomeini, the late founder of the Islamic Republic through his historic speeches and messages described sportsmen as a great national asset.

 Once in a historic meeting with sportsmen, Imam said that they were great assets and source of hope for entire nation

Imam Khomeini, the late founder of the Islamic Republic had attached significance to exercise by regularly taking a walk and included it in his daily schedule.  The great leader also encouraged athletics to win fame for the country by participating at international tournaments and world cups in various fields.

It is worthy to mention that the victory of the Islamic Revolution under wise leadership of Imam Khomeini put Iran back on track of scientific progress and Iran accomplished achievements in a vast range of fields including sports.

Iranian athletes, sportsmen and players have won international titles in international sports competition and have won a great reputation for the Islamic Republic and the Muslim world. 

Imam Khomeini used to meet and address sportsmen on several occasions and advised them to win fame and good name for the divine religion of Islam and the nation.

The late founder of the Islamic Republic expected sportsmen to boost and promote spirituality and moral values.

Imam Khomeini, the leader of contemporary Muslim world recommended them to decorate themselves with morality alongside improving and enhancing their professional skills and capabilities.

This comes as Iran men’s national volleyball team has upset world powerhouse Poland to achieve its first victory at the fourth week of the 2018 Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) Volleyball Men's Nations League.

On Friday evening, the Iranian squad defeated the Biało-Czerwoni Orzeł 3-0 (26-24, 26-24 and 25-22) at the end of a Pool 15 fixture played at the 11,000-seat Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, the United States.

All three sets were fiendishly tight.

The 2018 FIVB Volleyball Men's Nations League kicked off on May 25, and will run through July 8 in 22 host citie
