Hujjat al-Islam wal Muslemin Sayyid Abbas Mohri narrates that: “one day I was in the company of late Ayatollah Boroujerdi that a representative from the government came to him in order to gain his agreement on an issue he was working on. Grand Ayatollah Boroujerdi told the representative that he would communicate the reply to the government later, after consultations and exchange of views with some of the ‘ulema’ erudite theologians. I wondered with which of the erudite theologians of Qum he would consult on such matters. Not before long I saw Imam Khomeini come over on the late Ayatollah Boroujerdi’s request and saw them go together inside a room and discuss the subject behind the closed doors. Hours later, Ayatollah Boroujerdi communicated his views to the government (representative). Sometimes in addition to consultation and exchange of views with Imam Khomeini on important political issues, Mr. Boroujerdi would either invite him over to take part in discussions with government officials on a certain critical issue or to engage directly on his behalf with government representatives and authorities.”
