Imam Khomeini managed Muslim world affairs despite difficulties

Imam Khomeini, the late founder of the Islamic Revolution had closely monitored and managed the affairs of the Muslim world during his stay in exile.

Imam Khomeini monitored the political affairs of Iran and the world of Islam whilst in the holy city of Najaf and maintained contact in various ways with the Iranian revolutionaries,

In addition to his engagement in the teaching of courses in advanced studies of Islamic jurisprudence, Imam also presented during a series of lectures the theoretical bases of Islamic governance, which were later published in a book entitled Welayat-e Faqih (the Government of the Islamic Jurisprudent).

Imam's presence in Najaf presented the opportunity for the establishment of a more direct connection with the believers and the Muslim students abroad than had existed in the past.

This very factor played a significant role in promoting Imam's ideas and the objectives of the struggle throughout the world.

From Najaf, the sermons of the Imam were recorded onto audio cassettes and later sent into Iran. Imam hailed and praised the Iranian nation for their sacrifices and enjoined upon them patience and perseverance.

Imam once famously said, “These demonstrations that break down tyranny and advance the goals of Islam are a form of worship that is not confined to certain months or days, for the aim is to save the nation, to enact Islamic justice, and to establish a form of divine government based on justice.”

With regard to the Arab-Israeli wars and the acts of aggression perpetrated by the Zionist regime, Imam put a great deal of effort into supporting the Palestinian Muslims' uprising and backing other front-line countries.

Numerous meetings were held with the heads of Palestinian organizations; envoys were sent to Lebanon.

And an important and historic religious decree (fatwa) was issued in which he declared it a religious duty to give an all-out support to the Palestinian uprising and those countries subject to invasion.

These were just some of the actions that, for the first time, were taken by one of the world's prominent Shi'a maraje"(religious authority).

The victory of Islamic Revolution in 1979 under leadership of Imam Khomeini revived the rights of Palestinians and strengthened oppressed nations across the globe.
