Imam Khomeini once said he was missing Chamran

Dr. Mustafa Chamran was present in different arenas from the start of the Islamic Revolution.

Mustafa Chamran became the Minister of Defense; and when the Iraqi imposed war against Iran broke out, he gave up his position as the Minister of Defense and went to Ahwaz to fight.

Chamran continued to defend the country against aggressive powers until he was martyred on June 21, 1981.

These events reveal that the attractions of material life were not of value to him.

First of all, Mustafa Chamran was an outstanding and talented person, in addition to being a scientist, his religious devotion was so strong that he gave up all meterila benefits.

Imam Khomeini, the late founder of the Islamic Revolution, has had dee respect for Dr. Chamran.

Chamran (8 March 1932 – 20 June 1981) served as Member of Parliament and became first defense minister and following the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iraq’s imposed war against Iran.

Once Haj Ahmad Aqa, the elder son of Imam Khomeini called the Command Headquarters for Warfare in Ahwaz from the Imam’s Office in Tehran. Ahmad said that Imam had not seen Chamran for a long time and that Charmran ought to come to Tehran.

On hearing this message, Dr. Chamran who was in those days wounded in the leg in the Susangerd warfront, came to Tehran to meet the great Imam.

Dr. Chamran briefed Imam about the developments of the imposed war through charts and maps of the operation areas.

Chamran was martyred at a warfront in 1981 during the war which was imposed by former dictator Saddam and his colonial backers.
