Israel shuts down Palestinian school

Palestinian children attend class in street after Israeli authorities shut down a Palestinian elementary school in the occupied East Jerusalem al-Quds.

Students attended class in the street and held protests against Israel’s decision to close the school, the Palestinian Ma'an news agency reported.

This came after Israeli regime authorities recently shut down the school in the town of Sur Bahir.

Children who were enrolled at al-Nukhba (“the elite” in Arabic) arrived to the campus with their parents to denounce Israel’s closure of educational institutions as “tyrannical.”

Israeli regime authorities said that the school was being shut down for carrying inciting content in the teaching materials used at the school.

Head of the school Luay Jamal Bkirat denied the claims, saying that al-Nukhba school, which serves 250 boys from kindergarten to grade six, was teaching the Palestinian curriculum used in all schools in Jerusalem” al-Quds.

According to the Palestinian Ministry of Education, Palestinian children suffer from routine Israeli interference and pressure to replace Palestinian curriculum with an Israeli one in occupied East Jerusalem al-Quds.

It is worthy to mention that Imam Khomeini, the late founder of the Islamic Revolution, frequently appealed all Muslim nations to form a united front to counter Israeli aggression and atrocities against the Palestinian nations.
