Millions of Iranians pledge allegiance to Imam Khomeini, revolution

The people started out the commemoration rallies in different cities across Iran On Friday morning to celebrate the 38th anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

In their millions, Iranian people from various walks of life have staged massive nationwide rallies to mark anniversary of 1979 Islamic Revolution and pledge allegiance to the religious and spiritual leader, late Imam Khomeini, who is known as the “great architect of the Islamic Republic.”

The 38th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution falls on February 10 this year on Friday.

Iranian people of various age groups including men and women filled the streets countrywide to relive the day 38 years ago when the nation’s hard-fought Islamic Revolution against the former US-backed regime became victorious.

This year’s rallies are of higher significance and look set to be one of Iran’s biggest.

Iranian President and several other senior officials also joined the marches in the Iranian Capitan,Tehran.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said that the millions-strong marches underway across the country are a response to “untrue remarks” by the new authorities in the White House.

The president also stressed that bullying powers will regret threatening the great Iranian nation.

He made remarks while was speaking to reporters on Friday morning during a large demonstration in support of the Islamic-republic system and the Islamic revolution.

The ceremony was preceded by celebratory parachuting and aerobatics.

On, February 11, 1979, the Iranian nation’s struggles and protests against the tyrannous monarchial Pahlavi regime came to fruition under the leadership of Imam Khomeini, whose ideals are becoming increasingly popular among intellectuals, scholar and nations.

The nationwide rallies coincide with a political maelstrom in Washington kicked up by US President Donald Trump and his political point men against Tehran.
