Ayatollah Lavasani, trusted friend of Imam Khomeini

Late Ayatollah Seyyed Mohammad Sadiq Lavasani had been a close trusted friend of the late founder of the Islamic Republic who stood by him through all thin and thick times.

 Imam Khomeini had put great trust during his historic struggle against Shah regime on the learned clergyman who had touched peak of piety and knowledge.   

Ayatollah Lavasani, who had learned from great Muslim cleric of his time and had rendered his services at Qom and Najaf religious seminaries, was appointed by Imam Khomeini as his special representative for Tehran during the struggle for the emergence of Islamic Revolution. 

Lavasani , who showed great amount of sincerity and supported Imam during tough time, was later sent to exile by elements of Shah regime at least for a period of three years.

The victory of the Islamic Revolution under the wise leadership of Imam Khomeini had largely owed to Imam’s unprecedented faith in God, the Almighty, and great support by scholars, public figures and public masses. 

The Islamic Revolution emerged victorious at sensitive juncture of history despite opposition by colonial powers. Imam managed to revive divine values at sensitive juncture of history when the entire world had plunged into social and moral decline.
