Rafsanjani made remarks during a gathering which was held to commemorate sacrifices rendered by the nation during the imposed war by the then Iraqi dictator Saddam against Iran.
The ceremony was attended by senior civilian and military officials and people from various walks of life.
Addressing the ceremony, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani earlier said that the unity is the sole way to protect and shield the Islamic Revolution.
It is worthy to mention that Imam Khomeini, the late founder of the Islamic Republic led the Islamic Revolution by relying on God, the Almighty and with reliance on public masses.
The emergence and victory of the Islamic revolution in 1979 at the sensitive juncture of history strengthened the developing and oppressed nations.
However, exploiting and colonial powers hatched vicious conspiracies and plot to harm the Islamic Revolution. The Islamic revolution under the wise leadership of Imam Khomeini could foil all plot and grew stronger on the international arena by the passage of time.
