The participants described late Imam Khomeini as a symbol and emblem of freedom and Islamic awakening.
The mourners said that Imam didn’t only rendered great services to Iran in contemporary history, but also the Muslim world owes to his thought and ideals.
Talking to Press TV correspondent, the attendees said that his teachings continue to inspire people to resist repression in various parts of the world.
Imam Khomeini passed away on June 03, 1989 and departed heavenly after restoring dignity to Muslim and oppressed nations in contemporary era.
Imam also raised the issue of Palestinian issue on international level and defended their rights against the Israeli aggression and repression.
