Iran prevented expansion of terror activities

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani says the Islamic Republic’s efforts have helped prevent the expansion of Takfiri Daesh terror activities.

President Rouhani stressed if it had not been for Iran, Daesh would have managed to achieve its declared goals of establishing full control over countries such as Syria and Iraq.

Referring to a 2013 UN resolution adopted based on his proposal for a World against Violence and Extremism (WAVE), the president went onto say that Iran pioneered the slogan of a world free from violence.

Elsewhere in his remarks, President Rouhani described the Islamic Republic as the “flag-bearer” of the fight against terrorism, saying Iran has been the “flag-bearer” of anti-terror battles both in word and practice.

Elsewhere in his remarks, president emphasized that the Iranian nation must be appreciated for its struggles against terrorism.

Rouhani described Iran as the “land of peaceful co-existence” among different cultures and religions.

Rouhani underscored that the Iranian nation has not waged any war against other states over the past two centuries.

However, the president noted that the Iranian people have firmly stooped against the aggressors and courageously defended the country.

Rouhani made the remarks in an address to the 2nd International Seminar on Environment, Religion and Culture underway in the Iranian capital Tehran.

It is notable that Imam Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Republic openly and staunchly opposed all types of violence and terrorism.

Following footsteps of Imam Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Republic, senior officials have showed zero tolerance against terrorism.

Iran has remained on forefront to confront Takfiri terrorists groups wreaking havoc across several countries, especially in Iraq and Syria.
