Iraqi lawmaker pays pilgrimage to Imam Khomeini’s shrine

A veteran Iraqi politician has paid a pilgrimage to holy mausoleum of Imam Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Republic.

Ali Sobhi Hamid Maliki paid homage and renewed allegiance to ideals of Imam Khomeini; the founder of the Islamic Republic at his holy shrine, which is located on the suburbs of the Iranian capital, Tehran. 

He also expressed a sense of great spiritual feeling at the holy site. 

The senior lawmaker said that Imam Khomeini played a significant role in reviving the Shia history and genuine teachings of Islam in recent history. 

Elsewhere in his remarks, Maliki said that he had visited Iran to discuss some political and economic issues between the two countries. 

The Iraqi official also expressed determination to defeat the Takfiri Daesh terrorist groups and other militants which were spreading violence and committing heinous crimes against all religious and ethnic communities across Iran. 

Daesh Takfiri militant is wreaking havoc in several countries, especially in Iran and Syria. 

The Iraqi army backed by volunteers and popular mobilization forces are attempting to win back the militants-held areas in northern and Western Iraq. 

Maliki held extreme Wahhabi ideology, which is being promoted by Saudi Arabia, held responsible for all ongoing militancy, violence and bloodshed.

It is noteworthy that Imam Khomeini, the father of the Islamic Revolution, through his speeches, messages and works strongly denounced all types of violence, militancy and all forms of terrorism. 

Imam Khomeini’s message of peace and unity among followers of all religions is becoming increasing popular.

Imam revived divine values and spirituality and invited all followers of religion to solidarity and mutual respect and stressed on uniting common grounds.
