Iranian president along his cabinet members have pledged their allegiance to ideals and the path of Imam Khomeini.
President Rouhani and several members of his government, ministers and officials paid a pilgrimage to Imam Khomeini’s holy mausoleum which is located on the outskirts of the Iranian capital, Tehran.
Ayatollah Seyyed Hassan Khomeini, the grandson of the founder of the Islamic Republic and the guardian of the holy shire, also joined the president and senior officials.
Speaking to the journalists on the sidelines of the ceremony, the president said that Imam Khomeini’s historic return to country form years of exile, which led to the final victory of the Islamic Revolution, brought esteem and dignity to Iran.
The president said the realization of independence, freedom and the Islamic Republic were real ideals of Imam.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the president said that Imam had form the very beginning made clear that the participation and backing of the people for the system has been very vital.
Imam had emphasized that all affairs, including the presidential and parliament elections all are determined by the people vote, the president said.
The president also hoped for active participation of people in the upcoming parliamentary elections and polls for the members of the assembly of expert.
The visit by the president and his cabinet member comes on the eve of the 37th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution under the wise leadership of Imam Khomeini.
