Supreme Leader Seyyed Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has paid homage to Imam Khomeini by paying a pilgrimage to his holy shrine.
The supreme leader was joined by Ayatollah Seyyed Hassan Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Republic at the holy shrine.
The visit comes at the eve of the anniversary of Imam Khomeini‘s return to Iran after nearly 15 years of exile in 1979. The visit also comes during the dawn day leading to the victory of the Islamic revolution.
The leader also paid visit to the martyrs of the Islamic revolution and the martyrs of the 7th of Tir.
Years following the victory of the Islamic revolution, on 28 June 1981 the Hafte tir bombing occurred killing the chief justice and party secretary Ayatollah Mohammad Behesht and over 70 of his comrades.
The terrorist attack was devised by the hostile elements in a vicious attempt to harm the Islamic Revolution.
The Islamic revolution under the wise leadership of Imam Khomeini put Iran on the way to progress in all fields of life.
