Ali Daei, coach of Saba football team, the football players and managers, met Ayatollah Seyyed Hassan Khomeiniin the holy city of Qom.
Seyyed Hassan Khomeini praised the exceptional talent and services of Daei, who became one of the greatest names in domestic and international football history.
The grandson of Imam hoped that Daei’s presence in the team could result in growth of football and growing interest of the sports’ fans.
It is noteworthy that Imam Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Republic also wanted the sportsmen and players to focus on needs and challenges facing the nation and the Muslim society.
Imam wanted the sports institutions and educational system to become progressive, expand its horizons, and extend fields of research and technology which can fulfill all social, scientific and moral needs. Imam also believed that the sportsmen must become inspirable and take advantage of each other experiences.
Imam’s utmost efforts bore fruit in coming years and ranking of the Iran in various fields of sports were raised among the world recognized systems. Iran made an unprecedented level of progress in sports, humanities, social sciences and medical fields over the past few years and is offering services and interacting with intellectual and universities around the globe.
