Hassan Khomeini urges solidarity among religions

The grandson of the founder of the Islamic Republic has urged solidarity among followers of all divine religions.

Ayatollah Hassan Khomeini, the grandson of Imam Khomeini, made remarks while addressing a recently-held ceremony at University of Religions & Denominations in the holy city of Qom.

The great scholar of the Muslim world went onto say that wrong approaches and irrational mentalities have played a role in formation of Daesh and other terrorist groups which are now wreaking havoc across the Mideast region.

He also strongly criticized those groups who believe themselves to be better than others and were ascertained of their truthfulness.  These terrorist groups deem the beliefs of others as absolute false, incite violence and commit bloodshed.

The grandson of Imam emphasized on promoting solidarity and adopting logical and rational approaches while dealing with followers of various schools of thought.

Elsewhere in his remarks, he made clear that mismanagement by the Saudi government had led to recent tragedy in Mina, outside the holy city of Mecca. The intellectual held the Riyadh regime accountable for the fatal crush and stampede which claimed hundreds of lives of pilgrims.

Head of Iran's Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization Saeed Ohadi has announced that 239 Iranian pilgrims have so far been confirmed dead. Twenty-seven Iranian pilgrims have been wounded and 241 others remain unaccounted  for.

The overall death toll from the Mina incident has reached 4,173 so far.
