President Rouhani felicitates Eid al-Adha to Muslims

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani in separate messages congratulated leaders of the Muslim world on the advent of Eid Al-Adha (Muslim Feast of Sacrifice, marking the end of the Hajj season).

In his messages on Wednesday, also hoped for effective efforts to control violence and extremism in the world, Fars News Agency reported. 

The Iranian president extended his congratulations to the Muslim states and nations as well as his counterparts in Islamic countries.   The messages underlined that human beings need tranquility and peace, and expressed the hope that the Islamic countries would be able to control bloodshed, violence and extremism and establish security through sympathy, brotherhood and friendship.   President Rouhani also wished good health and success for all Muslim governments and nations.   Iranians celebrate the Eid al-Adha, commemorating the willingness of Prophet Abraham to sacrifice his son for God, on Thursday.   The Muslim eve is celebrated according to a lunar calendar, and thus, some of other Muslim states, celebrated the occasion on Wednesday.
