This is something that I myself had heard in Najaf. One day the Imam’s spouse told the Imam: “Why don’t you take steps to publish Aqa Mostafa’s (their martyred son) exegesis books?” The Imam replied: “This is not the sort of money with which you can publish these books!” The lady persisted: “Why is it not possible to publish his books with this money!” the Imam replied: “No, this is not the money with which you can publish books.” The lady then kept quiet and said nothing. I thought to myself that how particular the Imam was by saying that the books on the Quran’s exegesis which his son had written could not be published with these sorts of monies because the money was reserved for the needy and poor and belonged to them.
