At the start of the Kurdistan insurrection, a number of brethren of the Revolutionary Guards Corps of either the 2nd or 6th Battalion who wanted to be despatched to the Kurdistan region were very keen to meet with the Imam before their departure. It was around midnight when the Imam was told that the personnel who had volunteered to go to the region fervently desired to pay him a visit. He welcomed the idea with open arms and at two o’clock past midnight a group of the brethren personnel arrived and the Imam entered the hall and responded to their sentiments.
