Quds Day Promotes Solidarity Among Muslims

A senior Lebanese analyst says that the occasion promotes unity and solidarity among Muslim nations.

Walid Mohammed Ali made the remarks during a recent interview with Speaking to the Tasnim News Agency,

He pointed to the responsibilities of the Islamic community towards the Palestinians and the holy Quds,

The intellectual also emphasized that Muslims all around the world with any political or religious orientation should participate in the rallies.

"In fact, the International Quds Day leads to (the promotion of) unity and solidarity among Muslims," he said, adding that if Muslims fail to fight for the liberation of Quds and do not stand up against the Zionist regime of Israel, there will be more instability and conflicts in the region.

The Lebanese analyst further emphasized that the Palestinian people have never given up resistance against Israel and that their resistance will continue as long as the occupying regime exists.

Millions of people in Iran as well as other countries in the world held massive rallies on Friday to show their solidarity with the Palestinian people and their movement.

The International Quds Day is annually commemorated on the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan.

The day is seen as the legacy of the late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Imam Khomeini, who officially declared the last Friday of Ramadan as International Quds Day back in 1979.
