The holy prophet used to say: Fatima is a part of me, and the light of my eyes, the fruit of my heart, and my soul… and she is Huri (Angel) with Human qualities.
It was thus that this great child, from the pure extract of Heavenly fruit and a father such as the Holy Prophet (PBUH) mother such as “Khadijah”; on the twentieth day of Jamadi al-Thani, came into the world, and the taunts and reproaches of the prophet’s opposes, that he was as they thought without a “succeeding generation”, were all made in vain. And by the contents of the Qur'anic chapter Kawthar, Fatimah Zahra was made the gushing spring for the continuation of the prophet’s lineage and the guiding Imams, and great blessings through the centuries and ages until Doom’s Day.
This heavenly lady had several names each being more meaningful than the other; 1) Fatimah 2) Siddiqah 3) Tahirah 4) Mubarakah 5) Zakiyah 6) Radhiyah 7) Mardhiyah 8) Muhaddithah 9) Zahra each of which is a statement of the qualities and blessings of her blessed being.
In the history of Islam, for very group or stratum of society, there is a suitable role-model who is guiding light for salvation and on the path to perfection.
The role-model for women, as declared by Allah and His Prophet is Hazrat Fatima-Zahra (peace be upon her).
As rightly stated by the noble Prophet of Islam: "Fatima – the daughter of Islam--is the best of all women of the world (Sayyidatu Nesae Al A'lameen), and a role-model for all Muslim women.
Referring to this, Imam Khomeini said : The history of Islam is witness to the immense respect that the Prophet had for Hazrat Zahra which also powerfully reflects on the importance of women in society. If they are not superior to men, they are definitely not any inferior.
With the birth of hazrat Fatima-Zahra , Allah revealed the Chapters of Kauthar, Qadr and Dahr to praise her auspicious birth. By kissing Hazrat Fatima'shand and by praising her virtues, the Prophet of Islam firmly established the value of women in the Islamic society, the Imam said at an other occasion.
This Fatima is the role-model of all women of the world, her greatness is not limited to any particular time period or location. As stated by the Prophet of Islam , Fatima is the best woman ever, from the beginning of time, up to its end.
Imam attached a great significance to birth anniversary and martyrdom occasion of Hadrat Zahra.
Declaring the Birthday of Hazrat Zahra as "Woman's Day", Imam Khomeini has said: "This day is like the day of revival of real womanhood and the day of foundation-building for the important and respectable role, woman play in the society.
"Elsewhere, addressing groups of women he said : "If you don't learn from her asceticism, piety, modesty and other virtues, you have not even understood the true essence of womanhood."
"We must all try to follow in the footsteps of Hazrat Fatima and should try to learn from her piety and knowledge, especially since Allah has not limited knowledge to only a few but has made it available for all seekers. Also, each and every individual can attain to high degrees of piety, a quality that is again not limited to the elite."
Imam Khomeini the great religious and spiritual leader of the Muslim world frequently highlighted the divine virtues of the holy divine lady and advised all women around the world to the footsteps of the holy prophet’s daughter.
The founder of the Islamic Republic said that holy lady Fatimah (PBUH) is the role-model for women throughout history and for all. Imam also noted that the Muslim societies must follow the teachings, ethical norms and practices of the holy lady in order to attain salvation.

“The best of your men is Ali Ibn Abu Talib, and the best of your women is Fatimah Binte Mohammad,” Said the holy Prophet of Islam, adding that: “Fatimah is part of me, that which annoys her annoys me, and that which harms her harms me.”
The Prophet (PBUH) used to stand up to receive her when she visited him. It was clearly against the Arab custom for a father to stand up for his daughter. This shows the high spiritual status accorded to Fatimah by Allah.
It is also reported that: “Whenever the Prophet (PBUH) returned from a trip, he would kiss Fatima’s throat and say: ‘From her, I do smell the fragrance of Paradise.’”
Her home environment was an example of harmony, peace, tranquility, and modesty. She helped her husband in his worldly and religious affairs, and cooperated with him in achieving his exalted mission.
