Imam through his books and works explains that the more one’s age advances, the more the things which conflict with human felicity multiply and the more one’s powers are weakened.
Thus, when old age arrives, it is difficult to be successful at refinement and the acquisition of the virtues and piety (taqwa). One is unable to repent, for repentance is not merely the verbal expression, “I repent before Allah,” rather, contrition and the resolve to abandon one’s sin are also necessary.
