Anti-Iran summit in Warsaw doomed to failure, says Hassan Khomeini

Seyyed Hassan Khomeini, the grandson of late founder of the Islamic Republic has lashed out at an anti-Iran conference due to be held by the US in the Polish capital of Warsaw next month.

 The internationally reputed scholar made remarks at an event held under the title of "Reformist of the East" at holy mausoleum of Imam Khomeini in the Iranian capital Tehran.


The gathering was attended by ECO countries ambassadors, cultural figures and religious personalities.  Also among the attendees were senior government officials, foreign diplomats, university and seminary professors and internationally-reputed scholars.


Delievering a speech to the audience, Seyyed Hassan Khomeini stressed that  the upcoming US-sponsored Poland conference against the Islamic Republic will doom to failure. 


He also went onto say that each nation needs pride and esteem and the Iranian nation is no exception.


The remarks come came after US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo told Fox News in an interview to air on last Friday that Washington will jointly host a global summit focused on Iran and the Middle East next month in Poland. The anti-Iran conference will take place in Warsaw from February 13 to 14


In a recent tweet , Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif also strongly criticized the Polish government for hosting the conference, reminding Warsaw of thousands of Polish refugees saved by Iran during the Second World War.


Elsewhere in his remarks, Seyyed Hassan Khomeini presented a deep analysis of Imam Khomeini's historic letter to Gorbachev, the last Soviet leader. In recent decades. . He highlighted the various perspectives of the letter, which was registered as a historical document in the history of international relations and had attracted attention of the world's pundits, analysts, spiritual men and religious scholars in various regions of the world


He made a crystal clear that Imam's message to Gorbachev was of spirituality nature during a certain juncture of history when the entire world had been plunged into a moral decline. 


Imam's wanted to make understand that Soviet union problem was not lack of economic or political freedom or the personal right to property but an absence of spirituality and justice. 


Imam, on the one hand, exposed the communism while on the other had hand also made clear that many young justice seeking people who fed up with communism and had tried to shelter under the western capitalism were too misled.
