Imam Khomeini began to teach philosophy in the solar year 1324 (1945–46) and continued to do so until the year 1948 when the late theologian Aqa Mirza Mahdi Ashtiani arrived in Qum. Out of respect for the late theologian (who was much his senior), Imam Khomeini stopped teaching rational logic. After Aqa Mirza Mahdi left Qum due to certain personal reasons, the Imam taught Ma’ad Asfar (Journeys of Resurrection) only once for a small group of theology students.
