Long way to go in sports field

The grandson of the founder of the Islamic Republic says a long ways still has to be paved in the fields of sports.

Ayatollah Seyyed Hassan Khomeini made remarks in gathering which was attended by sports officials and figures.


The summit was also attended by heads of charity organizations that seek to expand sports activities across the country.


The grandson of Imam Khomeini emphasized that relevant authorities should resort to all means in order to realize and vitalize the potential of society in this regard.


He also recommended charity figures to contribute to expansion of sports fields, complexes and spaces for youths and people from all walks of life.


Elsewhere in his remarks, Seyyed Hassan Khomeini said that promotion of exercise and sports can prevent the society from falling into pits of a variety of offenses and crimes.


Elsewhere in his remarks, he cited several Hadiths which give good-tidings for those who spend for good deeds and undertake serious  efforts to remove social problems and hurdles.


It is worthy to mention that Imam Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Republic used to hold regular meetings with sportsmen and recommended them to decorate themselves with moral qualities and undertake efforts for the welfare of the Muslim societies. 


Following the victory of the Islamic Revolution under leadership of Imam Khomeini, Iran made dramatic progress in several fields including sports.  Iranians players have won several gold medals in the world cups and Olympics in recent decades.
