Imam Khomeini’s daughter insists to confront terrorism

The daughter of the founder of the Islamic Republic puts emphasis on confronting the Takiri militant groups such as Daesh and Boko Haram.

Zahra Mostafvi Khomeini, the daughter of late Imam Khomeini made remarks while addressing a gathering held to commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of sons of the   Nigeria Shia Muslim leader Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky.


The sons of Zakzaky were martyred after Nigerian security forces opened an unprovoked fire on participants taking part in an International Quds rally in the African country. 


The ceremony was also attended by NGOs members who support and promote the Palestinian cause and objective. Imam Khomeini had been a great defender of the rights of the Palestinian nation.


Elsewhere in her remarks, the daughter of the Islamic Republic went onto say that the society should be enlightened against dangers of militants groups posing to the societies.


At the same time, she put emphasizes on countering and dismantling the Daesh Takfiri militants who are  wreaking havoc mainly in Iraq and Syria, and the Nigerian-based  Boko Haram militants, through military means.


She also highlighted the crimes being committed by the Boko Haram militants against the Nigerian children and women. 


The remarks come as Daesh terrorist group has gained notoriety for its barbarity, heinous atrocities, and sacrilegious acts. Its militants have been accused of committing war crimes in areas they control in Syria, Iraq, and Libya.


The Boko Haram militancy began in 2009, when the terrorist group started an armed rebellion against the government of Nigeria. Human rights groups say 17,000 people have been killed since then.


It is noteworthy that Imam Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Republic frequently denounced all forms of terrorism, militancy and extremism through his speeches and messages.


Imam Khomeini established an Islamic-democratic system following the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran in 1979. The Islamic Republic changed the world balance of power in the interest of the Muslim and oppressed nations.
