He was not strict at all

From the point of view of performing acts permitted by religion His Holiness the Imam gives individuals lots of freedom but from the point of view of performing acts forbidden by religion the Imam is extremely strict and firm in his opinion – whatever your state of affairs be in the home. From the time that I can recall the Imam was different from many of the other Islamic religious authorities as well. In those days the wives of men would wear a formal kind of dress known as the ‘Chaqchour’ covering head to toe and ‘burqa’ veil and so on whereas the Imam would not be strict on these matters at all.
